Welcome to the 2021/22 Rotary theme “Serve to Change Lives”. I am proud to be serving as the President for the Waterloo Rotary Club for this upcoming year.
This pandemic has been a journey of challenge, exploration and certainly the unknown. We were challenged to stop in our tracks and isolate. By necessity we were required to explore new ways to connect and we were certainly faced with the unknown each and every day as new restrictions and rules faced us. As we move towards the lifting of restrictions, we are faced with new challenges as we get back together, re-connect and re-vision our priorities and opportunities.
The Waterloo Rotary Club has a solid reputation in the community for giving back and supporting organizations like KidsAbility, Supportive Housing of Waterloo, the Food Bank, the Hospice of Waterloo Region, the Rotary Peace Scholarship Initiative and most recently funded the India Coronavirus Oxygen Initiative. This year we will be launching new fundraising initiatives so that we can continue our ability to support organizations financially. And, we will continue to offer our time and energy in Service because Rotary members believe in ‘Service Above Self’.
We also look forward to offering opportunities to have some fun, get together and build new friendships. I invite you to join us at a Club meeting, attend a special event or learn more about Rotary. Afterall, there is ‘A Place for You with Rotary Waterloo’.
Yours in Rotary,
Kelly Steiss

Rotary Waterloo collected $1000.00 from the club and members as well as various donations of back packs and school supplies from members.
We were able to provide 75 back packs filled with school supplies for grades K-12!
The children were very excited when we arrived.  The back packs were taken into the community hub for distribution.  Parents and children were lined up and the staff were organized and handed out back packs to some pretty happy children.

It was so wonderful to hear their happy comments and seeing them walking home with their brand new back packs already on their backs!
